Hi, I'm Ella an earth-led photographer
I see myself as much a story teller as I am a photographer. Now, more than ever, we need stories that invite people back into relationship with the natural world, reminding us we are not just in, but of nature. That is the rich intersection where my work lies.
Having worked as an organic grower for 7 years, I know ecology intimately. I've brought this into my photography, with deep roots in nature, ecology and visual alchemy, I seek to celebrate and elevate global healing through stories of the land.
In 2022 I was shortlisted for Portrait of Britain, that's where my journey began. I've since merged my passions and now build stores and capture projects, landscapes and naturalists who inspire me.
My gift is my photography, where I can reach out and touch the world. If it touches something in you, I would be honoured to create with you.

Photo stories + ecology writing: sacred soils
My land work informs my photo stories and written projects. Forever inspired by our more-than-human kin, I am always fighting for the rights of a sovereign, ecologically just and supported global ecology. My work highlights the seed savers, the soil lovers, the tree huggers and the leaf pickers.
See links to recent projects - including:
- Spice agroforestry in Sri Lanka, celebrating the oldest known forest gardening system in Asia
- Callaloo, Amaranth and Jamaican seed savers. Thoughts on travelling seed
- Madeira, the Laurel Stronghold. The breathtaking last remains of a 22 million year old ecosystem
